Centennial Area Summer Stretch Intern

JOB DESCRIPTION 2008

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Take visible leadership role on Summer Stretch days.
  2. Organize youth leader crews for worship, skit, and games each day.
  3. Communicate with youth leader.
  4. Participate with leadership team in meetings and training sessions.
  5. Set up and prepare needed materials.
  6. Assist with clean-up and evaluation.
  7. Report any problems or concerns to coordinator.
  8. Maintain confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.      High school graduate.
2.      Considering a career in ministry, education, or community leadership.
3.      Prior experience with Summer Stretch a strong plus.
4.      Ability to interact with teens in a respectful, nurturing, age-appropriate way.
5.      Ability to be initiate and complete organizational tasks.
6.      Willingness to share your faith with others. Excitement about living out the Christian call to serve others.
7.      Ability and willingness to give support to youth leaders, drivers, and parents.
8.      Ability to work as a team member and to relate comfortably and appropriately with staff members, youth leaders, site coordinators, and volunteers.
9.      Passing a background check.

COMMITMENT: June and July, plus 2-4 days in May and August

STIPEND: $1000

AMOUNT OF TIME REQUIRED:  10-15 hours per week

 WHEN WORK IS PERFORMED:  Wednesdays, June 18 – July 30 (excluding July 2), Thursday, August 7. Other dates if available: May 20 and 28, June 9 and 12. Preparation and meeting time as needed.  

 RESPONSIBLE TO: One of the Summer Stretch directors/coordinators, to be determined.
