St. Joe’s Mission Trip Fundraiser

The Flamingo Game!

How it works:

· You order a flock of flamingos to be “migrated” by Mission Trip teens after dark to someone’s yard. Our teens and birds only travel within the parish area. Birds stay in the yard for 2 – 3 days.

· Those who’ve been “flocked” pay a small removal fee of $1 per bird. That fee may be applied to another flocking.

· Flamingo Insurance can be purchased as protection from “flockings.”

· Anyone can play the game, but please choose yards where flocks will be welcome.

· This is a great way to build community with parishioners, neighbors, friends and co-workers. Have fun!

· Game Timeframe – Orders are taken between June 2 and June 17, either after Mass or by contacting the Flamingo Information Line at 651-784-3065 or by e-mail office@saintjosephsparish.org. Flockings will be June 7 through July 16 only.

· All donations support the teens’ mission trips to Sault St. Marie, MI and Wausau, WI.

Flamingo Game Ordering Information and Game Rules

Ordering Information

· Order forms are available outside the office in the hanging file folder.

· Forms with attached payment made out to St. Joseph’s Parish can be put into the offertory basket or left at the Parish Center Office care of Flamingo game. Phone orders are taken at 651-784-3065 (Mary) or emailing office@SaintJosephsParish.org .

· A team of teens and a leader will deliver the birds to the given yard in the order received. Special requests (e.g., specific dates) can be discussed with Denise Walsh or Judy Doonan-Twohy, but we may not be able to accommodate special dates. Thanks for your patience!

· Flockings will begin on June 11 and will end on July 13, so get your order in today!

Pricing and Insurance

· Flamingos must be purchased in a flock. Cost: $20.00. Extra flocks for the same yard are $10 each. Payment is required before flocking will take place, including phone orders.

· Once in the yard, the recipient will have a note about when the birds will be removed and how to pay the retrieval fee -- $1 per bird unless the recipient is insured.

· STANDARD INSURANCE: For $10.00 you can protect your yard from one flocking. However, if your friends are ambitious, they can purchase 2 flocks ($30) for your yard and the standard insurance will not protect your yard from being flocked. You will wake up to several flamingo friends in your yard. Insurance forms available after masses or from the office.
