First Reconciliation

Contact: Judy Doonan-Twohy, 651-784-3416 x23

Preparation for First Reconciliation actually begins with a lesson in First Grade. Students add to their knowledge in Second and Third Grades. The formal preparation for First Reconciliation is geared primarily towards Fourth Graders and their parents. Other families with children age seven and older are welcome to participate (age appropriate materials will be provided). Four sessions are offered, three of which are held during the children's classroom time. The fourth session is a retreat session of about one hour and thirty minutes. These are designed to give information about the Sacrament of Reconciliation and to help participants process this information. Parents are asked to read and discuss a preparation book with their children at home. In addition to this study, Fourth Graders learn about the Sacrament in their classes.
