First Eucharist

Contact: Judy Doonan-Twohy, 651-784-3416 x23

First Communion is celebrated by Second Graders during the Easter season.  The preparation, offered prior to Easter, involves both parents and children.  Four sessions are offered (three of these are during the children's classroom time.)  The purpose of these sessions is to help participants attain a fuller understanding of the meaning of Eucharist in their lives.  In addition to the two units on Eucharist that the children do with their catechists, a preparation book is provided for study and discussion at home.

Children who were not baptized at St. Joseph will need to bring a copy of their baptismal certificate to the first session.
