Qualifications:

  • A pleasant voice and confident presence
  • Good reading skills
  • Willingness to serve the parish community
  • Care for individuals within our community
  • Willingness and openness to learn and update understanding of the Catholic Church and its Liturgy

Responsibilities:

  • Proclaim the Scriptures for Sunday and Holy Day liturgies
  • Study/prepare for the Scripture readings to be proclaimed
  • Serve at scheduled times or find a substitute
  • Serve when it is apparent there is not a minister at any given Liturgy

Time Required:

  • 1-2 liturgies per month

Commitment:

  • Indefinite

Training:

  • Training session before beginning ministry
  • One updating session per year
  • Rehearsals for special occasions as needed
